Hearing loss runs in my family – my mother, my son, and I all wear hearing aids. This personal experience gives me a deeper understanding of what my clients are going through and helps me connect with them on a more meaningful level.
It can be frustrating, isolating, and sometimes even embarrassing. Every client has their own history, hearing needs, and lifestyle, and I find it incredibly rewarding to help people regain the sounds they’ve been missing. Humour is important too – I enjoy getting to know my clients, sharing a laugh, and perhaps even a cup of coffee along the way.
I earned my Master’s degree in Audiology from the University of Northern Colorado, USA, followed by a Doctorate in Audiology from the Arizona School of Health Sciences, and have been working as an audiologist in Taupo for nearly two decades.
Around 10 per cent of the population experiences hearing loss, and I’m dedicated to helping people hear better and live more connected lives. I believe in providing independent advice and ensuring that everyone has the freedom to choose the best hearing solutions, tailored to their unique needs and lifestyle.
