Peter O'Brien
AuD, MNZAS

Originally from the deep south, Peter completed his bachelors degree in Dunedin, his masters in Christchurch, and an audiology post grad in Melbourne in 1982. He obtained his doctorate of Audiology through Salus University in the United States some 5 years ago.

After a decade in Rotorua, Peter moved to Auckland and has lived and worked in West Auckland ever since.

Peter’s first audiology private practice went up in Blockhouse Bay in 1996, followed by Te Atatu in 2001 and New Lynn in 2014.

Along with adult rehabilitation, his other audiology related interests are auditory processing and vestibular (balance) assessment.

The greatest gift of audiology is bringing practical solutions to everyday practical problems. I also love a good yarn and I’m blessed with a swag of patients who have great yarns to tell.

Outside of audiology, Peter keeps busy with an interest in athletics (photofinish), grandchildren (8) and two curly coated retrievers.
